Old People must stop behaving Elderly: Puri Jagannadh
Film Director Puri Jagannadh’s dialogues are as famous as his idiosyncratic heroes. His punch dialogues hit the rock very often. His one liners are famous in such a way that they have been used in other films too. Recently, Puri Jagan has started a podcast in the name of “Puri Musings”. Through this, he has been expressing his stern opinions on several topics from Amitabh Bachchan to Patriotism. In one of those episodes, he has touched the topic of OLD AGE in which he has given given some suggestions to the old people which are quite interesting as well as anti depressive.
Stop reading Bhagavadgita and writing RamaKoti:
As they reach the age of retirement, most people think themselves as useless to the society and they tend towards spirituality. They spend most of the time reading Bhagavadgita or writing Ramakoti. But this doesn’t take them anywhere. Learning Bhagavadgita at a younger age might have been useful but now it’s of no use. These type of practices make them look old and boring. Puri asks them to be cheerful at this age instead. So he asks them to stop behaving elderly with these type of practices.
Learn at least one new ART:
Lack of work makes people lazy and look dizzy. So, Immerse yourself in some kind of art. Learn at least one new art and try practising it regularly. This way you feel clear headed and look energetic. In this scenario, even the wrinkles on your face appear beautiful to the people.
Try to stand on single leg:
Do some kind of exercise regularly and try to stand on single leg for a small time everyday. This strengthens the knees and knees cap so that you could get yourself up from a chair easily. Don’t treat yourself as old and behave in the same way. Feel young and do like young.
Make friends with Youngsters:
Immediately cut those people with traditional mentality and try to start friendship with youngsters in your locality. Talk to them, go out with them, behave like them. Avoid the habit of advising someone. Just enjoy being a friend to the people. They should feel like wanting to spend more time with you than your family members.
Stop worrying about your children:
Stop treating your children as innocents and stop thinking that they are unaware of anything. They have got better education than you, they have seen and known the world much better than you. So stop worrying about them and start concentrating on yourself and your well being. You have got a very short time to be in this world and utilise that time to the fullest of your capacity. Don’t make yourself look older to them. So Puri asks them to stop worrying and start enjoying whatever time they have got now.
You should not be worrying about how your children would attend your funerals from abroad. Instead they must worry about how to bring your body from Goa or Hawaii islands if you die there. Such stupendously one should live. To live greatly in old age, one must start living happily since young age. Just like you live happily, same way you must die. Live great, die great.
