Actors’ performance:

Hero Darshan steals the show with his stellar performance. His body language apts perfectly for the role he played in the movie. His energy in fights and dances is unmatchable. Darshan’s acting and makeover as gangster will be loved by his mass fans. Jagapathi babu as a gangster is quite usual. There is nothing much to talk about the remaining characters including the female lead. All the charcters except Darshan are just there to fill the screen but they are adequate in their respective roles.

Technical Departments:

Story wise, Roberrt has nothing new to offer. It’s simply an old school flashback highlighted story. But the director Tarun Kishore Sudhir has taken a great care in terms of screenplay and hero elevation. Hero elevation is much needed in these type of films and director perfectly took care of it. But the film’s base idea of friendship is not showcased well. One couldn’t feel the emotion involved in the scenes. Tarun Kishore should have worked more on the emotional aspect.

Coming to other departments, cinematography by Sudhakar S Raj is impressive, especially in songs and fights. The first song is shot extra ordinarily. Editing by KM Prakash is just okay as he should have scissored at least ten minutes in the first half. Background score by Hari Krishna is good so as the music by Arjun Janya. Production values of the film are extra ordinary as each frame looks lavish on the screen.

Positives:

Second half

A couple of songs

Negatives:

First half

Lack of emotion

Highlights:

Hero Darshan acting and body language

Analysis:

On the whole, Roberrt is a movie which will be liked by Darshan’s kannada fans as well as some mass lovers in telugu states. Though the second half of the film is much better than the routine first half, the film lacks mainly emotion in friendship based scenes. Other than that, it’s a worthy watch especially for mass movie lovers.

One line Verdict: Darshan’s one man show
