Vijay to play Abhinandan Varthaman in his first hindi movie?
Vijay Deverakonda, who has become a overnight star with the blockbuster telugu film Arjun Reddy is seemed to be testing his luck in bollywood now. Vijay is said to be doing a straight hindi film which is supposedly bankrolled by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Bhushan Kumar. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘Kedarnath’ movie director Abhishek Kapoor is expected to direct the film and it is thought to be based on Balakot airstrikes. It means that if the news is true, Vijay Deverakonda will be playing the role of Abhinandan Vardhaman in his debut hindi movie.
Vijay familiarity with bollywood:
Vijay has already been popular in hindi film industry since his iconic ‘Arjun Reddy’ was remade in bollywood as ‘Kabir singh’ in which Shahid Kapoor played his role. Kabir singh also became a huge blockbuster just like its original. Vijay is also doing a pan India film with Ananya Pandey, under the direction of Puri Jagannadh, which is yet to finish the shoot. Though Vijay is already familiar to hindi audience this way, it would be his first straight film in bollywood.
War hero Abhinandan Vardhaman:
Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is an Indian Air Force fighter pilot who, during the 2019 India–Pakistan standoff, was held captive in Pakistan for 60 hours after his aircraft was shot down in an aerial dogfight. Later he was released by Pakistan army as a gesture of peace and was conferred the Vir Chakra gallantry award by Indian government for his bravery during the captivity.
Vijay keen on Puri Jagannadh movie:
Apart from Arjun Reddy, Vijay Deverakonda has films like Pelli choopulu, Geeta Govindam and Taxi wala in his hits list. But after Arjun Reddy and Geeta Govindam, Vijay has faced the drawback of expectations and most of his later films have become a failure at the box office. So Vijay is very keen on gaining a hit through Puri Jagannath’s movie.
